We made yummy ice cream today in science! Check out the recipe below:
Materials:
For each class, you will need:
· 1/2 cup of milk
· 1 tsp of sugar
· 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla
· 6 Cups of Ice
· 8 TBSP rock salt
· 2 quart size Ziploc bags
· 1 gallon Ziploc bag
* Ziploc bags can be replaced with a large coffee can or anther container with a lid.
Procedure :
1. Mix the milk, sugar, and vanilla in the quart sized bag. Place this bag inside the 2nd quart sized bag and zip it tight with very little air inside.
2. Fill the gallon size Ziploc bag half full with ice. Add the salt, and place the quart sized bag inside and zip it tight.
3. Shake the bag continuously for 10 minutes.
4. At the end of 10 minutes or when the ice cream feels and looks like soft serve (time may vary), take out the inner ice cream bags and discard the larger bag.
